Compare and Contrast Planet

ERVIN - ROOM 19

Your Main Focus: You need to compare (find similarities and differences) our planet Earth with three other planets in our Solar System.

12 756.2 km

12 104 km49 528 km142984 km
This is the third planet from the sun. This is the second planet from the sun. This is the sixth planet from the sunThis is the fifth planet from the sun.
This planet is Earth and has … an atmosphereWe can compare this planet to Earth because it has an atmosphere and an orbitWe can compare this planet to Earth because the gravity level is similar. We can compare this planet to Earth because they both rotate (spin on their axis)
This does not apply. We can contrast this planet to Earth because it is a lot hotter and closer to the sunWe can contrast this planet to Earth because it is a planet made of water ice mixture. We can contrast this planet to Earth because it has more moons and dangerous gases.
his planet has one moon and/or no rings It takes 28 days for the moon to orbit the Earth. The moon rotates on it axis every 27.3 days. This planet has no moon and/or no rings and this planet has no life formsThis planet has thirteen moons and/or five rings and these moons have an orbit around Neptune. This planet has sixty three moons and/or thin rings and these moons/rings are around the planet.
  1. It has life.
  2. Third from sun
  3. the Earth is 150 million km from the Sun
  4. 24 hour day/night
  5. 12 756.2 km in diameter
  6. completely discovered
  1. the hottest planet in the Solar System.
  2. Venus rotates backwards compared to the other planets
  3. Venus has no moons
  4. Venus is the sixth largest planet.
  5. 4.869e24 kg is its mass
  6. Venus' orbit is the most nearly circular
1.Neptune is made of a water and ice molecule mixture.
2.Neptune is the farthest planet from the sun.
3.Neptune has the strongest solar winds.
4.Neptune is the coldest planet in the Solar system.
5.There are no plains in Neptune.
6.164 years for Neptune to go around the Sun.
1. It’s a gas giant.
2.Jupiter is bigger than all the planets in the Solar System combined.
3.Jupiter is the fastest spinning planet.
4.Jupiter has rings.
5. It’s clouds are 50 km thick
6.Jupiter has 63 moons.
This does not apply. It is not possible for life on this planet because Venus is to hot for life to evolve. Life, as we know it, is not possible on this planet because Neptune Is too cold for life.Life, as we know it, is not possible on this planet because Jupiter is full of dangerous gases and moves (rotates) to fast.

Outta This World

‘Brring...’ screamed the alarm, I tried to ignore it I wanted to stay in my dream. My dream outta this world holiday.

I was feeling stiff as my long space flight was heading for my first stop. We landed on the 100,000 square km of lava pools upon the ridge belt, of Venus, after arriving at our destination, we deployed our space satellite . It was a huge 3.7 m tall! Then we left for some comet fragments passing by.

Upon our next flight , we were 660 million km from our destination. We flicked on hyper speed and in a flash we were on the fragments. We have just landed on a moderately bright, strong, greenish color space rock. Our small but strong rock was heading towards Jupiter our final destination.

We were almost at Jupiter. It was nerve wracking, I had a sleep so I could be recharged for our big Jupiter speed drag . After my sleep we were heading to Jupiter’s atmosphere.

“We are heading for some major turbulence!” cried the pilot. we crash landed and.... I was awake, I felt happy to be home without any unknown, undiscovered, planet! “This is captain Sleep-o-tron singing out from captain's log space ranger out.”
